How deep

I was looking through some old posts on a blog that I follow and I came across a post with the words from the song, How deep the Father's love for us. I love this song and I hope this song brings you love, peace, and comfort in knowing how much God loves all of his children. May you also meditate on the scripture I have on the bottom of this post, John 3:16.

Here are the lyrics. Enjoy.

How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that left Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom
(REPEAT)

By the 20th century, Memorial Day had been extended to honor all Americans who have died while in the military service. It typically marks the start of the summer vacation season, while Labor Day marks its end.

I think this more me.

I have taken five years of french, two years of french one, two years of french two and one year of french three. I took french one, two, and three in high school and i took french one and two in college. i fell in love with the language, the culture, and the city. I hope I am able to visit france one day. That's item number one one my bucket list, as well as a bunch of other things.

Well I hope you like my new background.

Au revoir tout le monde,
God bless you all,
Your sister in christ,
Jennifer

Trust in the Lord....

This year I was able to be an assistant guide, with the first and second grade class with my church's Children's Caravan Program. For those who don't know, Caravan is a scouting program that meets Wednesday nights at my church and it is like Boy scouts or Girl Scouts in the way they earn badges and go on camping trips but the only difference is that the badges are always tied in to a verse in the bible. The children also work on memorizing what is known as Articles of Faith or I believes, depending on what grade the student is in. At the beginnning the chilren have a game night where they can get to know their teachers and their fellow classmates. At the end, the children go to an event called Round-up where they get together and go camping over a weekend from friday night to sunday afternoon. While at Round-up, the children get to meet other children in the Church of the Nazarene district and they play games, do crafts, roast 'smores, sing songs, and are tested on their memory work/articles of faith/i believes.

When the children have gone through the program from benson's buddies up to adventurers and have earned every badge there is to earn, they are eligible to earn the Phineas Brasee award and the Esther Carson award. I had the great privilege of earning both and my name was engraved in a plaque in the sanctuary foyer but our the sanctuary building was flooded due to a leak in the fireside room so they had to completely redo the carpet and they repainted which meant the plaques had  to come down. They have not put the plaques back up yet..... should I say something about that? lol
;-)

One other fun event the children get to be apart of is the Pinewood Derby. Now if you have heard about the boy scouts having a pinewood derby, it is basically the same thing. the children make cars out of blocks of wood, paint them however they want, and they are raced against the other cars made by their classmates and other children form the church of the nazarene district. It is so fun to meet other children from our area and cheer each others cars on. This year three of our students went home with awards. My neice took second in her age group and one of her classmates took fourth. One of our benson's buddies even took home second place i believe. I'm not sure.
In two weeks we will be packing up and heading the the Caravan Round-up and I am really excited. I'm going as one of the chaperones and my sister is going as support to my neice and mephew because they have never stayed overnight away from home before and if they are anything like my sister, they will cry and get homesick and want to come home. I don't get homesick. I don't think I ever have. My sister got all of those genes. By the time I was my nieces age, I had already been to caravan overnight outings i think once and I was getting ready to go on i think my second trip to childrens camp. My niece is ten by the way. By the time I was my nephews age I had been to science camp in big bear, gone to summer camp three times i think or going on my third time, and getting ready to go to my third of fourth time at caravan roundup. I have even been to Hawaii by my self with my youth group as well as New Orleans and Canada. (Yeah even out of the country). I think I might die young.. knock on wood....because of the full life I have had.

Below I have posted the caravan symbol and the symbols for each grade with a short description about each. I hope you find them infromative.

School is almost out!!!! Well fall semester at least. I will be attending the summer semester at Chaffey College. I will be taking two classes which will be College Algebra and Composition. If I have read correctly, after I attend fall semester this year, I will only have twenty units left, or about three or four classes until I am able to graduate with my AA(Associate's in Arts) in Psychology if I don't transfer. I am hoping to transfer to Azusa Pacific University so Lord willing I will be attending Azusa Pacific University in the spring of 2014.

Please stay tuned in to my blog within the next few days or weeks because I will be posting an entry on each chapter of the bible after I have read an entire book. I will read each book in the bible in the hopes of reading the bible in a year. After I have completed each book I will give a list of verses that have stood out to me that I have underlined or highlighted. It may take me a while to get through each book because each book is longer or shorter than the others so please be patient with me. I have started already and I am currently in chapter 12 of Genesis. Just so you know I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, I will keep you posted on my progress. With each post I hope you will glean a piece of wisdom from the verses or chapters that I have found encouraging, uplifting, inspiring, or I just like the wording of the verse of verses.

Well please again stay tuned in to my blog and keep me accountable and post words of encouragement if you wish to do so in the comments. If you would like, you can also subscribe to my posts, I would greatly appreciate it if I got subscribers so I know that people are actully reading my posts and not just scanning over them or just moving on to the next blog. I would like to know that there are people are interested in what I have to say and I'm not posting to a void area.

God Bless you all.

Here I Am...

As I was leaving school this afternoon, this song just come to my head. I don't know why, it just did.

Here are the lyrics for the song, Here I am to worship.

Enjoy!

Light of the World
You stepped down into darkness
Opened my eyes
Let me see
Beauty that made
This heart adore You
Hope of a life
Spent with You

Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me

King of all days
Oh so highly exalted
Glorious in Heaven above
Humbly You came
To the earth You created
All for love's sake became poor

Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me

I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross

Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me

Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me
